Hello All,

Happy New Year!  It has been a while since I last posted, but it is good to be back.  The deals business seems to be picking up again so there should be more posts to follow.  Today's post is about a video game, Uncharted II Game of the Year Edition.  I loved the first game and strongly recommend it to anyone who has not played it.  Walmart is selling II for $24.96 with free shipping to a store, or $.97 shipping to your house.

You can find this deal here.

Gone but not forgotten

Hello All,

I cannot celebrate the PlayStation without mourning the loss of the Dreamcast.  The Dreamcast debuted on 9/9/99, four years after the PS1 hit the US.  It was the finest system at the time, arguably the best system launch, and was killed due to Sega's bad decision making, EA not supporting it, and finally the PS2.

There is a video podcast series in iTunes that goes through the history of gaming, and is very entertaining.  Here is the episode on the Dreamcast.  If you have iTunes I recommend finding the series in their as the video quality is better.

If you missed out on the awesomeness that is the Dreamcast, you can still buy them from Amazon.  Lastly it is true that I bought a Dreamcast, then bought a second unit when they were on sale for $40, just in case the first one broke.  That is my love for the Dreamcast.

RIP Dreamcast

Deal of the Day #3 - 3/5/10

Hello All,

Microsoft is offering a nice deal to people who played Halo 2 on Xbox Live.  Here is a copy of the message Microsoft sends to some users.

On April 15, 2010, we will discontinue the Xbox LIVE service for original Xbox games playable on Xbox v1 and Xbox 360. In our continuing efforts to evolve the service, we need to make changes to the LIVE service that are not compatible with original Xbox v1 games.

What does this change mean for you?
• It does not affect your ability to play original Xbox v1 games offline, but does remove LIVE connectivity and support for online multiplayer, leader boards, and other online features of these games.
• We realize that you are an avid Halo 2 fan. Unfortunately, with this change, you will not be able to play Halo 2 on Xbox LIVE going forward.
• Although it is difficult to say goodbye to Halo 2, the Halo franchise continues as the benchmark for multiplayer gaming in this generation with Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and soon Halo: Reach. On the Xbox 360, you will continue to have access to the LIVE service where you can enjoy hundreds of other LIVE-enabled games.

When will this change take effect?
• April 15, 2010.

What is Xbox LIVE doing for me?
• To thank you for being a loyal Xbox LIVE customer, we are giving you a free, three-month LIVE Gold membership and 400 Microsoft Points for you to use as you choose on Xbox LIVE.
• In addition, because you've been so loyal to Halo, we are inviting you to participate in the exclusive Halo: Reach Beta.

How do I get these offers?
• You will receive a token for 400 MS points. Check your Xbox LIVE account messages on the console. These points can be used for 365 days after you activate your token.
• We are extending your Gold membership by three months automatically. The extension will be directly reflected in your LIVE account.
• Finally, as the beta gets closer, you will receive an e-mail containing the code granting you access to the exclusive Halo: Reach Beta.

Thank you for being a loyal Xbox LIVE member. Please visit xbox.com/support if you have any questions or for more information.
The Xbox LIVE Team

Check your email that is associated with your Xbox Live account to see if you received this message from Microsoft.

Best Buy is selling Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii for $19.99.  Amazon is selling it for 33.49, and the regular price is $40.00, so it is a sweet deal for all of the Wii owners out there.

Deal of the Day #2 - 9/30/09

Hello All,

The tubes were again right and the Wii is now $199.99 at most places. You can find it for here at that price anytime.

I like my Wii but the wife has used it way more than I have. It is a decent party system, but I rarely turn it on to use by myself.

Deal of the Day - 8/24/09

Hello All,

This is a today only one, but a good deal. Woot is selling a new Xbox 360 Pro for $229.99. You can get free shipping buy using code ONEBAG for $5 off. This price is $70 less than you can find it at most places, although with the price drop on the PS3, I am sure an Xbox Price drop will be coming soon, and Wal-mart is having on next weekend, on the model above this one.

Find this deal here.

You can find rechargeable battery packs for the controllers, here. Use the code listed above for the discount on shipping on that item.
