Deal of the Day #3 - 2/19/09

Hello All,

Dell is selling the canon SD1100 for $132+ tax shipped to your door. This is a great camera, we have one and love it. Its replacement, the SD1200, was just announced so the prices on them should fall everywhere, but $132 is the cheapest I have seen it anywhere.

Use coupon code K3F53V3GHL433D for an additional 5% off and to get the camera down to 132. You can find the camera here.

Hello All,

Sellout.woot, Woots! site in association with Yahoo!, is selling a three port HMDI switcher with 3 6ft HDMI cables included for $30 shipped to your door. If you need and extra HDMI port or two this is a great deal, and the fact it comes with cables makes it even better.

You can find this deal here.

The Woot! Off is still going strong. You should check it out here. If you don't know, they sell lots of things, one at a time, as fast as possible. You never know what will be coming up. It is Woot, just faster and with a crazy deal at the end of the sale.

You can see what has gone through here. You can actually use twitter to track the whole thing, but I prefer to just refresh the direct page myself.

Deals - kind of at least

Hello All,

I finally ventured over to Circuit City to see what they had left and what kind of deals they were offering. Overall it was all crap, but there are a couple of deals to be found.

1. PS3's and 360s were marked down 20 to 25%. These are new in the box. A good deal if you are in the market for one today and cannot wait until April.

2. Cameras were pretty picked over, but the ones that were there are 20% off. This is basically Internet prices but you get it today. Specifically the Sony DSLRs were cheap cheap. If you think you want a DSLR but do not want to spend loads of money, this is the time. There were also some Olympus DSLRs pretty cheap there too. Check out dpreview.com before you make a purchase, but a DSLR is worth every penny you pay for it.

The only other thing I noticed is that the video games all in all were bad deals. Ninentendo being the only exception. Lots of old, already discounted games were marked up to full price, then 20% was taken off. Not a good deal.

Good luck if you go.

Rumors for February

Hello All,

So far the GEC has not produced the level of great deals that many had predicted. However all hope is not lost, and to keep you up to date and informed, here are some rumors the tubes have brought to me.

1. Canon will be announcing their new products the week of February 16th.
This means current products will go on sale, and you will be able to plan for the cool new stuff coming out shortly. Hold off on any Canon purchases until the news hits.

2. The PS3 will have a price drop to $350 in April.
The cost of Blue-Ray components have gone down, so the price of the PS3 will be reduced to match this savings. If you really cannot wait, Dell is selling the 80GB PS3 for about $340 all of the time. A nice $60 savings over pretty much everywhere.

3. The Xbox360 will drop whenever the PS3 drops.
It has been rumored that the 360 will drop an equal amount in response to the PS3 dropping.

That is all I have for now. I will post more as I hear them.
