iPod Update

Hello All,

I probably should have posted this earlier, but better late than never. Apple is having a special event Tuesday September 9th. They will likely be announcing a whole new line of iPods. If you have not gotten an iPod but are close to picking one up, wait until next week. The current models will drop in price, and the new ones might be worth paying full price for, who knows.

Rumors for August

Hello All,

Looking back at my blog I see that my rumor postings have been, well, less than accurate. So take these with a grain of salt. I will put the rumors in highest likelihood to lowest.

1. New iPods will be hitting the market around September 7th.
   There is an Apple Event this day, so something will be coming out, and I doubt it will just be iTunes 9.
2. Snow Leopard will be coming out early, possibly the last week in August.
   It is a significant upgrade from Leopard, if you can you should get it.
3. The Sony PS3 price drop will finally be coming in September.
   The tubes are saying $300 for the unit, and possibly a slimmer version as well. I think the price drop will happen, probably not the slimmer, unfortunately.

There you have all of the tech rumors I know. Keep these in mind if you are close to buying one of the items listed, as the old models will price drop when the new ones hit, or you might get more bang for your buck if you wait a little bit.

PS3 Rumor

Hello All,

The pipes and tubes tell me that on March 22nd the 80GB PS3 will drop to $300. This is purely a rumor right now, but I have heard that the price drop will happen in the spring of 2009, so this falls into line with that rumor. Two rumors that collaborate each other make it true right?

Anyway take it for what it is worth, but if you were on the fence about a PS3 you might want to wait a little bit to see if you can save $100.

Rumors for February

Hello All,

So far the GEC has not produced the level of great deals that many had predicted. However all hope is not lost, and to keep you up to date and informed, here are some rumors the tubes have brought to me.

1. Canon will be announcing their new products the week of February 16th.
This means current products will go on sale, and you will be able to plan for the cool new stuff coming out shortly. Hold off on any Canon purchases until the news hits.

2. The PS3 will have a price drop to $350 in April.
The cost of Blue-Ray components have gone down, so the price of the PS3 will be reduced to match this savings. If you really cannot wait, Dell is selling the 80GB PS3 for about $340 all of the time. A nice $60 savings over pretty much everywhere.

3. The Xbox360 will drop whenever the PS3 drops.
It has been rumored that the 360 will drop an equal amount in response to the PS3 dropping.

Mac Laptop Rumor

Hello for the last time today,

This is only a rumor, but sources point to October 14th as the day the new Mac laptops will be announced. So if you are in the market for a mac laptop, wait a month if possible. The current ones will drop in price, and the new ones might be worth the wait for the upgrade.
