Just in time for mothers day, Best Buy is offering the Canon SD1400IS for $129.99. This is the smallest point and shoot camera Canon has ever made, yet it has an impressive list of features.
- 2.7" LCD screen - 230,000 pixels
- 4x zoom
- 720p HD Video recording
- mini HDMI out
- Image Stabilization
- Wink Detection - Wink your eye to make it snap a picture
- Face Detection - For focusing on faces, or setting a timer that will not go off until it detects a face in the scene.
- Miniature Effect
- Fish-Eye Effect
We own this camera and are very happy with it. As a warning it is very small, so if you have large hands I would suggest you check it out in a store before pulling the trigger on a purchase. Lastly, the SD1300IS is a better picture taking camera, but the SD1400IS has more features, and adds the 720p HD video mode. If you plan to print large pictures from this camera, get the 1300IS. If you want something for snapshots and maybe up to 5x7 along with videos, get this camera.
You can find it at Best Buy here. I would suggest you act quickly, as I would bet this sells out. Amazon is currently selling the same camera for $190, but they should price match eventually.
Later,
John
