This little HD camcorder is perfect for parents and children as it is cheap enough that you will not care if it breaks, it is waterproof to 6.5 feet, and it has a HDMI out so it is easy to hook up to a TV. One last thing, this camcorder is $65, do not expect mind blowing HD video, but in good light and in places where it might get wet or wreck a better camcorder, it will work really well.

We bought a Kodak PlaySport Zx3 before we had our daughter, and it is basically the same thing. It is waterproof to 10 feet, but outside of that they are very similar. We bought that model over the newer Zx5 as the Zx3 has an interchangeable battery. The Toshiba has that as well and is about $50 cheaper, so I would buy this if I were in the market.
